Mountain Boutique Hotel Cervo in Zermatt

Mountain Boutique Hotel Cervo in Zermatt

“Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before” – Dalai Lama

I really want to say that CERVO is the gateway to the mystical mountain world of the Alps. As part of the tourism in the Alpine region and in harmony with the nature of Zermatt, all its actions are based on a strong environmental awareness.

Practical information

Location: Zermatt, Switzerland

Coordinates: 2QC3+QQ Zermatt

Bookings and more information: Hotel Website

Parking: No Parking, as Zermatt is a car-free city. You can park in Täsch, there is huge parking and take a 15 minutes train to Zermatt.

Train Station: Zermatt, Bahnhof

The hotel

Since the CERVO was founded in 2009, ecological and social responsibility has been a central principle. The ethical treatment of people and the environment is part of all processes and permeates all areas: A sustainable energy supply and the natural production of hot water and heating energy are just as much a part of this as the commitment to various projects at local and international levels.

CERVO is the manifestation of mindful awareness of life, which is carried out every day through interaction with visitors, employees and, in the long term, in projects around the world.

The vision of an awareness of life is also reflected in the core principles of the CERVO mission:

 • CERVO creates a gathering point for pleasure, inspiration and relaxation.

 • CERVO is committed to the regenerative use of resources and holistic employee culture.

 • CERVO signifies cordiality and high quality.

Thanks to the holistic sustainable commitment, CERVO was classified by hotelleriesuisse with the “Sustainable Living” category.

Rooms, suites & lodges

You can choose one of three different accommodations that CERVO offers to its guests: Nomad, Alpinist and Huntsman. Three different facets from the same world.

Authentic Nomad 4*

Zermatt has always been a place for pioneers, explorers and adventurers. The unique nature attracts modern nomads to discover and experience its beauty. With its stylish design and flexible room layout, the Nomad offers the perfect base camp for exploring without having to sacrifice the amenities of the CERVO world.

Cosy Alpinist 5*

Warm colors, elegant wooden surfaces, natural materials and distinct architecture - the Alpinist stands for peace and relaxation. The stylish sanctuaries combine modern zeitgeist and alpine feel-good factor. The orientation to the south provides magnificent views of the mystical mountain world. After a long and exciting day in nature, the private bar in every room provides relaxed evenings with freshly mixed drinks.

Luxury Huntsman 5*

Away from the bustle of the town, the most exclusive way to experience the magic of Zermatt is hidden. Slightly elevated, surrounded by nature, its impressive mountain world traveler find the Huntsman. The exclusive chalet offers a unique experience of peace and seclusion. The CERVO’s alpine roots have shaped the design of the spacious Huntsman Lodge and suites and ensure a noble hunting ambience.

Food and restaurants at CERVO

Eat, drink, celebrate - the culinary part is essential for the CERVO spirit. The are three wonderful restaurants, each is perfect in its own way:

BAZAAR

Inspired by the lively markets of the East, the Bazaar is the heart of CERVO. This is the place where everyone gets together: modern nomads, explorers and locals. The atmosphere is relaxed, people chat, drink, meet, dine. The delicious dishes are 100% vegetarian and are served throughout the day.

FERDINAND

Fresh air for traditional Valais cuisine. At Ferdinand, only Swiss products are used – most of them even from the Valais itself. If you like cheese you will love fondue and raclette. And the many delicious Valais specialities never fail to surprise. The contemporary interior of the chalet shows the modern side of the Zermatt mountain aesthetics. Delight throughout.

GRAPES & JUNIPER

So hidden, you almost miss it. The entrance to the Grapes & Juniper Bar is reserved for those who look closely. Once in, there are 40 different types of gin and wines from all over the world to discover. The atmosphere is relaxed and the cocktail masters behind the bar are happy to help if the choice is difficult.

Mountain ashram spa

For me, a spa is the best way to forget about the daily routine and relax. This is the main reason why I spent a lot of time there.

The Mountain Ashram Flow is inspired by Japanese onsen, Bhutanese hot stone baths and the Northern European art of sauna. Precious local herbs and fresh spring water bring centuries-old traditions from all over the world to the Zermatt mountain landscape.

And all of these with the view over Matterhorn.

How To Get There

Consider that Zermatt is a car-free resort. However, it is still possible to reach it by car comfortably. The trip from Zurich to Tasch near Zermatt typically takes between 3,5 and 4 hours. We went via the Lotschberg Tunnel, which was especially interesting as you need to drive your car onto a special train for the 16-minute trip through the tunnel. Two trains operate every hour in each direction and fares start from CHF 25 for a car. In Zermatt, we called the hotel and they sent an electric taxi to pick us up free of charge.
